Pitfalls and Pratfalls
Be forewarned. Few people adhere to a diet or exercise program consistently
for any length of time, for valid reasons. First, many programs are complex,
requiring effort, change in habits, lifestyle and time. Second, they are
ultimately viewed by participants as deprivations. Third, neither diet nor
exercise can bring about targeted fat mobilization; ie. the loss of fat in
selected areas. The rule of thumb is that, irrespective of the diet or exercise
regimen, most people first lose bulk in the face, then in their arms, whereas
their goal is preferential results in the tummy, buttocks and hips. People jump
from diet to diet because what they really seek is a quick, relatively effortless,
targeted fix, which historically they have been unable to achieve. There are only
three targeted fixes available: Infusion Lipolysis, lipectomy and
liposuction. Lipectomy is rarely used, because of the long incisions required
to cut out fatty tissue.
